If you’re feeling a little frayed these days, you’re not alone. Some of the most inspiring women I know have mentioned that—while they’re still keeping things going—they feel the seams are starting to show.
This year’s Ladies Who Launch is coming up on July 14 at Oasis Hotel and Convention Center, and the programming is designed to help restore any elegance or intentionality that might have been depleted from your day-to-day life. The theme, “Do It For You,” is right on my current vibe. If it resonates with you, too, here are a few things you have to look forward to:
• This year’s keynote speaker, author Catherine Price, recently released The Power of Fun: How to Feel Alive Again, which has got to be in the running for Most Relevant Book Title Ever. Many 417-landers also love Price’s previous book, How to Break Up with Your Phone. (Megan Johnson, 417 Magazine’s vice president of operations, is one of them—check out her review.)
• When I first heard the topic of this year’s lunch keynote, I thought of the old saying: “Sunlight is the best disinfectant.” Melissa Barnes, vice president of Twitter Latin America and Canada, will speak about “radical candor,” which sounds like the perfect burst of sunlight for any stubborn bits of self-doubt or people-pleasing behavior.
• Back in February, I had the pleasure of hanging out with Biz 417’s 2022 Women Who Mean Business. It was a blast. We’re reuniting this lively group for a conversation with 417 Magazine Publisher Logan Aguirre. Laughs and Aha! moments are guaranteed.
• There will also be plenty of chances to connect through networking opportunities, including the Hustle Hour and Rosé with Rosie.
It’s planned as a day of restoration and joy—all made possible by amazing sponsors, such as Volt Credit Union, FORVIS, Husch Blackwell and Mercy. In-person tickets to Ladies Who Launch are sold out, but on-demand tickets are still available. With an on-demand ticket, you can access video of sessions for 30 days, beginning July 21.
